2020 INFINITI Q50 vs. 2020 Acura TLX | Edinburg, TX
Midsize luxury cars are in high demand because of their athletic yet sophisticated exterior styling, opulent interiors, advanced technologies, and incredible performance. Two of the industry’s top options are the 2020 INFINITI Q50 and the 2020 Acura TLX. Though the choice between the two is challenging, the INFINITI Q50 ultimately emerges as clearly superior to the Acura TLX.
Under the Hood
The 2020 Q50 offers much more power behind the wheel than the 2020 TLX. The INFINITI Q50’s base engine is a 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbocharged 24-valve engine with an aluminum-alloy block and heads with a water-cooled air charging system. This engine serves up 300 horsepower. You can also add two turbo speed sensors and dual water pumps to the engine, which increases the horsepower output to 400.
The Acura TLX pales in comparison: Its base engine is an inline-four that cranks out 206 horsepower, and its optional V6 doesn’t even match the performance of the INFINI Q50’s base engine, managing just 290 horsepower.
Safety
While both the 2020 INFINITI Q50 and the 2020 Acura TLX offer an abundance of industry-leading driver-assist active safety technologies, the Q50’s suite is more comprehensive. Among the Q50’s leading safety technologies are a standard Predictive Forward Collision Warning system, standard Forward Emergency Braking, optional Direct Adaptive Steering®, and available Lane Departure Prevention and Active Lane Control. Direct Adaptive Steering is not available on the Q50’s competition, including the TLX.
Owner Benefits
The INFINITI Q50 also offers more comprehensive owner benefits than the Acura TLX. Among its most notable benefits are 24-hour Roadside Assistance, Trip Interruption Benefits (covering costs like meals, lodging, and transportation), and an INFINITI Courtesy Vehicle when you bring your 2020 Q50 into Bert Ogden INFINITI for service.
