2020 INFINITI Q50 vs. 2020 Nissan Altima | Edinburg, TX
Midsize sedans offer sleek styling, sporty performance, and an abundance of technologies for safety and entertainment. The 2020 Nissan Altima is one of the segment’s hottest sedans, but if you want to move up in the world into the premium segment, there is no better choice than the 2020 INFINITI Q50. As the luxury arm of Nissan, the INFINITI Q50 offers much of the same as the Nissan Altima, but ups the ante on performance and luxury features.
Under the Hood
The standard engine powering the 2020 Altima is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that pumps out 188 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. This engine, while respectable, is no match for the standard engine powering the 2020 INFINITI Q50: a 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbocharged engine that delivers 300 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque.
A hallmark of the new Nissan Altima is its optional 2.0-liter Variable Compression Turbo four-cylinder (the world’s first VC-Turbo), but this engine generates just 248 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. It cannot compete with the top-of-the-line V6 with two turbo speed sensors in the INFINITI Q50, upping the output to 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque.
Design
While the 2020 Nissan Altima is eye-catching in its own right, it has nothing on the luxury of the 2020 INFINITI Q50, which is marked by a sculpted body, a bold front fascia, 18-inch split-spoke wheels, LED lights, crescent windows on the outside, leather or leatherette-appointed seating, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Owner Benefits
The new INFINITI Q50 boasts a number of owner benefits that aren’t offered with the purchase of a Nissan Altima. For example, the Q50 includes Trip Interruption Benefits, Roadside Assistance, and a complimentary INFINITI Courtesy Vehicle when you dropped off your Q50 at our Bert Ogden INFINITI dealership for any service covered by warranty.
